Dear Readers,
This year marks the tenth anniversary of the Journal of Frontier Studies (JFS). These ten years have not been easy, and not everything unfolded as we initially hoped, but we persevered. We are grateful to everyone who has been with us along the way. To commemorate this occasion, we have selected a number of articles from the journal’s early years and translated them into English so that international readers may engage with the work that we—editors, authors, and community—have undertaken together.
Most of the pieces in this collection come from the journal’s formative period, which was also its most challenging. We therefore wished to acknowledge and support those who once supported us. This special selection is a gesture of recognition and thanks for the trust they placed in JFS. Thank you, friends.
The articles gathered here are diverse by design. Our aim was not uniformity but, rather, to present to readers abroad the multiple facets of what we do. We hope this endeavor will find its audience. Perhaps not everything turned out exactly as we envisioned, but we have done our best.
Once again, thank you to all.
Respectfully,
on behalf of the editorial team,
Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Frontier Studies
Serguey N. Yakushenkov, Dr. Habilitatus in History, Professor
